별침 상태 부부의 갈등해소에 기여하는 성행위에 대한 관점: 남성 대상의 예비연구

본 연구는 부부가 갈등을 겪을 때 그 대처방식으로 별침을 선택하고 나서 다시 동침을 하게된 과정에 대한 여성의 관점을 밝힌 기존의 연구결과를 남성의 시각에서 해석한 것이었다. 예비연구 차 원에서 시도된 본 연구의 참여자는 별침을 경험했던 40대 기혼남성 3인이었으며, 그들에게 개별적인 면담을 통해 여성의 관점을 해석하도록 했다. 그 결과 부부 갈등이나 별침이 진행되는 과정에 대한 남녀의 시각차가 매우 두드러졌다. 남성들은 별침 개시단계에서 보여준 여성들의 심리적 특성에 대해서도 공감하기 어려웠다는 반응을 보였지만, 별침이 종료되어 동침으로 다시 이루어진 후 성행위와 갈등 해소 기능의 관계에 대한 관점에서 여성하고의 차이가 심했다. 예비연구에서 드러난 성차의 이유나 동기, 또는 배경을 더 명료하게 밝히기 위해서는 남성 사례를 늘린 후속연구가 필요하다고 사료된다.

Some couples in marital conflict choose to SSR(sleeping in separate rooms) as a coping mechanisms for the conflict. This pilot study was to compare men's perspectives with women's perspectives and psychological characteristics from the initiation of the SSR to returning to co-sleeping which were reported in the previous study. Three men in their 40s who had slept in separate rooms owing to the conflict were recruited as interviewees for this pilot study. They had shown very different viewpoints from women on the leading factor of initiating the conflict and the concomitantly psychological characteristics when choosing the SSR. The significant difference was found in understanding the function or role of the sexual intercourse that would resolve or mitigate the marital conflict. In conclusion, a follow-up study with more male respondents was suggested to identify the differences clearer.
